Create and Maintain Healthy Habits

Updated: Aug 16, 2019

Monday!

How many times have you set lofty goals on Monday and given up on them when a challenge arises? If you are anything like me, the answer is many times.

Formed habits are hard to break. We all form food related opinions and patterns from a very young age and they can be hard to break.

Through working with clients to help them create and maintain healthy habits, I've learned that the key to sustainable success is learning to outsmart your excuses and building a structure to sustain and support those strategies.

Start Small. If you want to clean up your eating habits, add one serving of vegetable to each meal everyday for two weeks. Start your day with a healthy breakfast cause it sets the tone for the rest of your day.

Track your positive changes, so that you can reflect on them. Remember that it may take time to see results, and that's ok. If weight loss is your overall goal, focus on the behaviours that help you get there rather than the scale alone. It's important to celebrate your day-to-day accomplishments, no matter how big or small. Over time you'll reap the rewards of a healthier lifestyle and experience a ripple effect in every area of your life.

Although change is difficult, with repetition, these new habits get easier and become the norm. So stick with them!

MATCHA COLLAGEN GREEN SMOOTHIE

Start simply by incorporating smoothies into your daily routine. These meals in a cup are chockfull of nutrient dense fuel, that is easy to digest. They are filled with ingredients like vegetables, fruits, and leafy greens that are loaded with enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and other vital elements. Making this one positive change first thing in the morning, brings you one step closer towards improving your health and will help boost your mood and energy throughout the day.

How we do anything is usually how we do everything. If you struggle to find time in one area of your life, you probably deal with it in other areas, too. Believe it or not, that’s actually a good thing. It means that as you make progress in one area, you’ll experience a ripple effect in every area of your life.

What you do everyday matters more than what you do once in a while

So know its your turn to tell me, what health goals are you going to prioritize today. Leave a comment below and share your thoughts 💚.

With the new year part, my resolution for this year is to write down my goals and make them more tangible. I read somewhere that if you write down your goals you are more likely to accomplish them.
